Once, our hearts were filled with rich, fertile earth. Every good seed that fell upon this earth took root, growing deep and strong, firmly anchored by the richness of the soil. These seeds blossomed into virtues and qualities that reflected the best of our nature, aligned with the divine.

But over time, we allowed the rocks of the world to enter our hearts. At first, they seemed small and insignificant, barely noticeable among the fertile soil. However, these rocks began to grow, slowly choking out the good seeds. The once-deep soil started to diminish, its richness and depth eroded by the persistent presence of these intruders.

The seeds of good qualities struggled to find a strong grip as the earth within our hearts grew shallower. Their roots could no longer delve deep, and the virtues that once flourished began to wither. Our hearts, once a sanctuary of divine alignment, became increasingly dominated by the world’s influence.

This transformation left our inner soil barren and incapable of nurturing new growth. The depth and quality of our hearts’ earth were compromised, preventing new seeds of goodness from taking root and flourishing. As a result, our hearts became more worldly and less aligned with the divine, reflecting more of the world and less of God.

Let this story remind us of the importance of guarding our inner soil. We must be vigilant against the rocks that can infiltrate and choke out the good within us. By nurturing the fertile earth of our hearts, we can ensure that the seeds of virtue and goodness continue to grow deep and strong, aligned with the divine.
